Poetry is a form of expression, therapy and creativity.

I have…

This poem reflects the differences in how some people perceive me versus who I actually am. People are complex and have so much depth. They are contradictions, and that I exactly what I am. This poem exemplifies the times people jump to conclusions about who I am when there is so much more to me.

“I have never started a poem whose end I knew. Writing a poem is discovering”

Robert Frost

The Choice to Sin

This poem was about my experience of having ODD and Anxiety. It’s difficult to explain what it was like to live with ODD; it’s not something people can understand easily. It took a lot of work, but I was able to overcome this mental illness of mine. This poem is a way of trying to explain what it was like to live with ODD.

“All bad poetry springs from genuine feeling”

Oscar Wilde

A Mom Like Mine

I wrote this poem in honor of my mother. I wasn’t an easy child to raise, but she raised me well. I didn’t always appreciate what she had given and still gives me. This poem was a gift on Mother’s Day to remind her that I appreciate all she is and that I am lucky to have her as a mom.

Poetry is thoughts that breathe, and words that burn.

Thomas Gray

Simon

I wrote this poem for my stepdad. He is an extremely important part of my life. He was the one who taught me how to ride a bike, snowboard and dirt bike. He has always been there for me and continues to do so. I wrote this poem as an appreciation of him. His entrance into my life set me on a different course and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings.

William Wordsworth
